Ensign College (formerly LDS Business College)

For 120 years, Ensign College has served students seeking career preparation in an individualized, nurturing setting. The first president, Dr. Karl G. Maeser, welcomed 86 students to the fledgling institution on November 15, 1886. Today, students come from every state in the nation and more than 50 foreign countries.

Classes average about 20 with some as few as six, which gives students plenty of one-on-one with faculty. Students earn associate degrees in accounting, business, computers, health services, interior design and office management. Students also may earn an associate degree in general education to transfer to a four-year university. The Career Management Center assists students with lifetime job placement and has maintained a 90-percent placement rate for the past decade.

The college was founded by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as part of the worldwide LDS Church Education System. Members of the First Presidency and other General Authorities regularly address students. Leaders of the business community also speak at forums and devotionals throughout the year.

The College moved from the Enos Wall Mansion to its current location at the Triad Center on the Corner of North Temple and Third West in July of 2006. The adjacent Trax station makes for an easy commute from all areas of the valley.

The college is located in the heart of Salt Lake City, close to professional sporting and cultural events. Many historical sites, museums and parks are within walking distance of the campus. Students also can ski, hike, and enjoy year-round recreation.
