Loveland Living Planet Aquarium (LLPA) is a world-class attraction, featuring five unique ecosystems from South America to the Antarctic. The Aquarium is home to more than 4,000 animals, from penguins to sloths, sharks to leopards, otters to porcupines, and much more. This unique aquarium is the ninth largest in the nation, and is a must-see during your trip to Utah.

Loveland Living Planet Aquarium is an AZA (Associaton of Zoos and Aquariums) Accredited, world-class attraction, featuring five unique ecosystems from South America to the Antarctic. The Aquarium is home to more than 4,000 animals, from penguins to sloths, sharks to leopards, otters to porcupines, and much more. This unique aquarium is the ninth-largest in the nation and is a must-see during your trip to Utah.

Loveland Living Planet Aquarium features a large shark habitat with a 40-foot walk-through tunnel. Guests are amazed to see different species of sharks, sea turtles, stingrays, and colorful fish swimming all around them. Another popular habitat to explore is the Gentoo Penguin Research Station, where more than 20 penguins swim and waddle around. LLPA features not only sea life but all animals that make up Earth’s diverse ecosystems, including our two beautiful Clouded leopards in the Expedition: Asia hall and the sloth in the Journey to South America hall.

  • Open daily 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with extended hours on Monday nights til 8:00 p.m.
  • EECO Voyager shows begin at 10:15 a.m. daily.

Unique Habitats

Ocean Explorer:

Embark on an unforgettable underwater adventure where you’ll be surrounded by sharks, touch stingrays and sea stars, and search for the Giant Pacific octopus. You’ll discover ocean species from around the world.

Antarctic Adventure:

Watch the Gentoo penguins swim, dive, and play with views above and below water. They are the fastest-swimming penguins and can swim up to 22 miles per hour! You can also visit the depths of the Deep Sea and find glowing sea jellies.

Expedition: Asia

Visit two Clouded leopards, Koshi and Rhu, and discover what a Binturong is in this hall. You can also watch the playful Asian small-clawed otters and see giant fish, including the rare Asian arowana.

Journey to South America:

An immersive experience, this hall is just like a tropical rainforest in South America, with humidity, free-flying birds, and real plants and trees. You’ll find amazing river giants, exotic reptiles, a Linnaeus's two-toed sloth, and two prehensile-tailed porcupines. 

Discover Utah:

Explore Utah from the red rocks in the south to the lakes of northern Utah. See Utah’s unique fish from the Rainbow trout to the Arctic grayling, two working beehives, and visit three North American river otters.
