Flight Park
Utah State Parks and Recreation and the Utah Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (UHGPGA) are partnering to preserve this unique recreation area that is an excellent site for teaching and participating in these sports. Enthusiasts from around the world know The Point as a great place for both paragliding and hang gliding.
Flight Park State Recreation Area is being jointly managed by Utah State Parks and Recreation and the Utah Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association. Visit the UHGPGA website for more information about flying safety and requirements.
Just west of the parking lot, there is also a model port for RC airplanes and helicopters.
Note: There is no overnight camping and no OHV (off-highway vehicle) use allowed anywhere in the area.
Main Attractions
Flight Park is located at Point of the Mountain, which is considered one of the world's great places to engage in hang gliding and paragliding. One reason it is such a good location is you can launch and fly from either side of The Point.
Location
Located at Point of the Mountain, approximately 24 miles south of Salt Lake City.
Take Exit 288 off Interstate 15, then drive east to the frontage road, which is called Minuteman Drive, and turn right. Follow it south for about 2.5 miles. Turn left on the dirt road just past the construction buildings. (There's a sign for "Point Of The Mountain Flight Park"). Follow the road up to the top of the mesa and turn left into the parking area.
