Alexander Basin
This trail climbs steeply through the forest to Alexander Basin, and is one of the routes to Gobblers Knob. Gobblers Knob is the highest peak on the ridge between Mill Creek and Big Cottonwood Canyons.
2.25 miles to the summit. Elevation gain: 3,145 ft. Summit elevation: 10, 246 ft.
Trailhead

The trailhead is located in Mill Creek Canyon, about 7.8 miles above the fee station. Look for it on the south side of the road after you pass the Clover Springs Picnic Area.

The trail meanders south from the trailhead, climbing for about 1 mile before reaching Alexander Basin.

Alternately, you can continue on around the shoulder of Gobblers Knob to the Bowman Fork Trail. You can also find your way up to the summit of Gobblers Knob, for spectacular views of the surrounding area.
