DAYS OF ’47 COWBOY GAMES & RODEO ANNOUNCES 5 FOR THE FIGHT PROMOTION
Jul 15, 2021
SALT LAKE CITY (June 15, 2021) – Today, the Days of ’47 is excited to announce they are joining the fight against cancer by partnering with 5 For The Fight during the five-day 2021 Days of ’47 Cowboy Games & Rodeo at Utah Fairpark this July.
5 For The Fight, created by Qualtrics in 2016, is a global movement inviting everyone to give $5 for the fight against cancer. During the first three performances, July 20-22, the Days of ’47 Cowboy Games & Rodeo will be donating $5 to 5 For The Fight for every ticket sold using the code “FIVE.”
“We know that cancer does not discriminate and can affect you or your family at any age and time,” said Tommy Joe Lucia, General Manager of the Days of ’47 Cowboy Games & Rodeo. “We are honored to join the Utah Jazz in bringing attention to the 5 For The Fight campaign and to play a small role in helping to find treatments for this gut-wrenching disease.”
To date, 5 For The Fight has raised $27 million for cancer research. That money has fueled the work of established researchers already in the field, expanded research capacity through constructing new cancer facilities, and helped hire 13 cancer researchers through the 5 For The Fight Cancer Research Fellowship.
To commemorate their fifth anniversary, and in conjunction with the Utah Jazz, they have launched a campaign to try and break the longest virtual high 5 chain world record that started with 8-year-old Utah cancer fighter Steele McKinney to bring awareness for life-saving cancer treatments.
“Days of ’47 is leading the way this summer to motivate donations to cancer research with 3 special nights benefitting 5 For The Fight,” said Lori Morency Kun, Head of Social Impact, Qualtrics. “We’re excited to see an arena full of engaged fans working toward a goal that everyone can get behind. We hope everyone uses the code FIVE to both receive a discount and donate to cancer research.”
The Days of ’47 Cowboy Games and Rodeo has become a must stop on the summer rodeo schedule for contestants from the junior high level all the way to the pros of the sport as they vie for Gold, Silver and Bronze medals awarded to the top three, setting this rodeo apart from any other rodeo in the world.
