Spend a few hours at the Canyon Country Discovery Center located 1.5 miles north of Monticello, Utah. Their 48-acre campus is a great place to stretch your legs and imagination with hands-on learning stations, programs, and exhibits. Take a walk along the campus trails for views of the high plateau and the Abajos Mountains. Explore their outdoor nature playscape and picnic pavilions, available at no cost for guests to enjoy as they travel through San Juan County Utah’s Canyon Country.

Canyon Country Discovery Center offers opportunities for you to immerse yourself in the Colorado Plateau. Programs are designed to engage visitors in a hands-on experience. Spend the afternoon hiking along a mountain stream or trekking through red rock canyons to view ancient ruins and rock art. Tours range from half-day to weeklong outings to locations including Canyonlands National Park-Needles District, Cedar Mesa, San Juan River. Guided hikes include interpretation about ancient Puebloan ruins, ecology, and geology. Trips leave from the Canyon Country Discovery Center in Monticello, Utah.

The Canyon Country Discovery Center's new campus, offers hands-on educational experiences about the Colorado Plateau through interactive learning exhibits, adventure education field trips, workshops, professional development training, citizen science projects, and classes on our campus, and throughout the Colorado Plateau.
Canyon Country Youth Corps (CCYC) program hires young adults ages 15-25 for five to twenty-five weeks to complete service projects on public lands in the Four Corners area
Spend the afternoon hiking along a mountain stream, venturing to the confluence of the Colorado River and Green River, viewing Canyonlands National Park's redrock from high up in the Abajo Mountains, or trekking through a canyon to view ancient ruins and rock art.
Four Corners School of Outdoor Education offers place-based NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities across grades K-12, aligned with Common Core State Standards.
