Bears Ears Education Center
Located in Bluff, UT, the Bears Ears Education Center is your first stop when visiting Bears Ears National Monument and southeast Utah.
Knowledgeable volunteers at the Bears Ears Education Center provide regional information including places to visit in Bears Ears, appropriate places to camp, scenic driving routes, and more. Free Bears Ears maps are also available.
The center is a mission-driven space created to teach visitors how to respectfully and appropriately visit Bears Ears National Monument. Learning the ‘Visit with Respect’ guidelines before exploring will ensure you help protect and preserve the important landscape of Bears Ears for future generations. Operated by Friends of Cedar Mesa, a local nonprofit, the education center is a welcoming space for explorers of all kinds.
The Bears Ears Education Center also includes a gift shop featuring books by desert writers, t-shirts, hats, cards, and a variety of other gifts as well as limited outdoor gear including daypacks, backpacking food and fire pans – all designed to help visitors learn about and respectfully explore the cultural landscape of Bears Ears National Monument and beyond.
The Bears Ears Education Center, located at 567 W. Main St., Bluff, UT, is open 9am to 5pm, Thursday – Monday, March through November.
