| Aztec Butte Trail Length: 2 miles round-trip Difficulty: Easy Description: Ancient Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi) people lived in this area and some of their rock structures can be seen on this hike. The trail ascends Aztec Butte, which is located in the Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands National Park. From the Butte you have outstanding views of the surrounding canyon country. Trailhead The trailhead is at the Aztec Butte parking area, along the Upheaval Dome Road. The trail is well-marked and easy to follow. Aztec Butte The high ends at the summit. You return by following the same trail back down the slickrock dome. |
