Blue John Canyon's narrows are perfect for canyoneering. There are slots that are free from obstruction, water-filled pothotles, sections that require downclimbing, and many sheer drops which necessitate rappelling. It's named for infamous outlaw John Griffith who had one brown eye and one blue eye; thus, the nickname Blue John. Legend has it that he disappeared in this spot. Canyoneers of all skill levels have been paying tribute ever since.
