Kodachrome Basin State Park


The scenery is splashy here, dominated by 67 monolithic stone spires called sedimentary pipes. They accentuate multi-hued sandstone layers revealing 180 million years of geologic time. The color and beauty found here prompted a 1948 National Geographic Society expedition to name the area Kodachrome after the popular color film. Read more...

Kodachrome Basin State Park

This park is particularly popular during spring and fall, when temperatures are moderate. A concessionaire offers horseback rides and other activities and services.

Grosvenor Arch is located nearby.

This park is popular because of its outstanding scenery. It is a great place to camp, hike and ride horses.

Located near the town of Cannonville, about 300 miles south of Salt Lake City. It is about 9 miles south of Highway 12. From Cannonville, follow the signs.

Commercial Groups/Private Vehicles with more than 8 people: $10 entry fee plus $3 per person

Camping

The park offers a modern campground with 47 sites. Many are pull-through and can accommodate RVs up to 45 feet. Fees are $25-$35 per night.

There are also two group camping areas.
