Heber City Utah is located in a beautiful mountain valley just a short drive from the Wasatch Front. The area offers outstanding year-round outdoor recreation including golf, fly fishing, boating and water sports, skiing and other winter sports. In summer, temperatures are usually cool and pleasant. In winter, abundant snowfall makes this a paradise for winter recreation.

Several outstanding resorts and romantic bed and breakfast inns are located here.

This area is also home to Olympic glory. Soldier Hollow, the cross-country ski and biathlon venue for the Olympics, offers winter and sumer recreational activities.

1 Wasatch Mountain State Park - This park is a summer and winter wonderland, offering a 36-hole golf course, camping, picnicking, hiking, horseback riding and cross country skiing.
2 Soldier Hollow - This 2002 Olympic venue now offers a 36-hole golf course for summer play plus world-class cross country ski trails, with sections designed for enthusiasts of all skill levels - from novice up to Olympic athlete. Other winter sports are also popular here.
3 Fishing - There is excellent fly fishing on the Provo and other nearby rivers, and excellent fishing on Strawberry, Deer Creek and Jordanelle reservoirs and other small waters. Winter ice fishing is very popular in this area.
4 Water Sports - Boating, water skiing, jet skiing and sailing are very popular on Deer Creek and Jordanelle reservoirs.
5 Uinta Mountains - Heber is the gateway to the High Uintas, the highest mountains in Utah. In the Uintas you will find hundreds of small lakes and streams, a lush forest and numerous campgrounds. The area is choice for hiking, backpacking, camping and fishing.
6 Heber Valley Railroad - The historic Heber Valley Railroad, 450 S. 600 West, operates a turn-of-the-century steam engine that departs from Heber City and Vivian Park in Provo Canyon on regularly scheduled tours year-round. 7 Scenic Highways and Byways - Scenic roads extend in all directions. The Mirror Lake Scenic Byway (Hwy 150) into the Uinta Mountains is the most famous. The Alpine Loop and Cascade Springs roads are also popular, along with Hwy 189 through Provo Canyon and Hwy 40 through the Strawberry area. The Wolf Creek Pass road is a less known and extremely scenic drive.
8 Winter Sports - Heber is just minutes from Deer Valley and the other Park City-area resorts, yet it is away from the bustle of the city. It is an easy drive to world-class resorts and cross-country ski areas.
9 Aero Activities - Sailplaning has become a popular activity in Heber Valley and gliders are a common sight in the sky. Heber Valley

Cross Country Skiing - Soldier Hollow
Soldier Hollow in Wasatch Mountain State Park was the Olympic venue for the Cross-Country Skiing, Nordic Combined, and Biathlon events. The facility features 23 kilometers of trails that can be used both in winter and summer. (435) 654-1791

Snowmobiling

Skiing and Snowboarding
500 inches of the lightest, driest, and fluffiest snow found anywhere in the world falls at the ski resorts in Utah. Deep powder and well-groomed runs are available at the area's three resorts: Park City Mountain Resort, The Canyons and Deer Valley.

Fly-fishing - Provo River
World-renowned for its premier trout fishing, the Provo River offers the convenience of the outdoors just a doorstep away from the second largest metropolitan area in Utah. The river offers avid fishermen great day and half-day trips.

Heber Valley Historic Railroad (Heber)
This authentic 100-year-old scenic railroad features a pair of 1907 steam locomotives and a variety of vintage passenger cars. Day trips take passengers along the shores of Deer Creek Reservoir and through Provo Canyon. Utah Olympic Park
This 389-acre park at Bear Hollow was the site of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games Bobsleigh, Luge, Skeleton and Nordic Ski Jumping competitions. During the summer, ski jumpers work on technique by landing on plastic runways in landing zones. Freestyle aerialists practice their twists and jumps and land in the park's 750,000-gallon training pool.
