Horseback Riding Flaming Gorge Country
The Flaming Gorge area is located in the heart of the American West. Horses have long been important here. They have been ridden by Native Americans, frontier ranch hands, outlaws and now by visitors who can enjoy seeing this beautiful country from the saddle.
Several wranglers provide horseback rides from areas near Flaming Gorge Dam, and near Red Canyon overlook. Some provide multi-day horsepack trips into the Unita Mountains.
Many people bring their own stock and use them to ride or horsepack. Groups packing to remote Uinta Mountain lakes often use horses, as do hunters probing the backcountry.
These outfitters offer horseback rides in this area.
