Camping near Flaming Gorge

Camping is very popular in the Flaming Gorge/Uinta Mountain area, and many excellent developed campgrounds are found here. Advanced reservations are recommended for summer weekends because campsites fill up fast at the reservoir and at popular spots in the forest.

This area is located within Ashley National Forest, and the Forest Service controls camping regulations. Dispersed backcountry camping is allowed throughout most of Ashley National Forest, away from popular developed areas.

In addition, very nice commercial campgrounds are located in communities in this area.
