WIFYR is a week long intensive conference for budding writers and artists, as well as those who have published, to work intimately with successful authors and illustrators on developing their craft.
Morning sessions provide attendees with the opportunity to work on their writing/illustrating and publishing skills. These 20 morning hours are spent in critique, and lessons in craft and marketing. The average class has 13 students—so writers and illustrators get the individual attention they need to help them improve. Each faculty member works toward the goal of helping students reach his or her potential. Editors and agents visit classes affording attendees the valuable chance to ask questions about various aspects of publishing. Afternoon sessions are structured lecture settings that will allow time for students to get to know published authors and illustrators, editors and agents present at the conference.
New to WIFYR this year are the daily Mini Workshops that range from screenwriting to short stories, as well as the Full Novel class. In addition to these new classes, there is a $1,000 prize that one WIFYR full-day conference attendee will win along with possible publication through Familius Publishing.
Class space is limited.
