2013 will be the 68th consecutive year that the Bit & Spur Club has produced the 4th of July Rodeo, a 2-day event which is the highlight of Tooele County's Independence Day Celebration. For the past 14 years, the rodeo has been held at the beautiful Deseret Peak Complex. The 4th of July Rodeo started out in 1945 as a fund raiser for the club and continues to fund our Junior Riding Club Program and other activities, including civic and charitable projects.
The Bit & Spur 4th of July Rodeo gets underway starting on July 3rd at 8 pm with the second performance on the 4th. You’ll want to arrive early, before the Rodeo, to watch the Mutton Bustin’ Buckle Mania Championships. On July 4th, after the bronco riding, barrel racing, roping, wrestling and bull riding, it’s fireworks time! This is the perfect way to cap off the all-American sport of rodeo. Even before the dust settles, the night sky will light up with Booms and Bangs followed by “ooze” and “awes” of an impressive fireworks display. Patriotic music played over the loud speakers, choreographed to the fireworks will surely fill your hearts with American pride. You’ll experience feelings of appreciation and gratitude towards military family and friends; some who are currently giving, all who already gave some, and some who gave all, so we can enjoy our freedoms!
It’s best to arrive early and find your seats as the rodeo can get crowded. Several vendors will be on site to satisfy a thirst, a sweet tooth, or an all out hunger. The Deseret Peak Complex is located West of Tooele or East of Grantsville on Highway 112. (2930 West Highway 112 Tooele, UT)
Pre-sale tickets can be purchased at Macey’s Food and Drug in Tooele or online at www.bitandspurridingclub.com.
