Our spring performance features a premiere by Johannes Wieland, currently the Artistic Director and Choreographer in residence at Kassel Ballet in Germany. His work meticulously and uninhibitedly explores contemporary urban life. The result is a richness of unconventional, explicit ideas presented with baffling technical agility and visually arresting images.
Short Stem Roses (1993), the theatrical and whimsical work by Arizona based choreographer Douglas Nielsen, paying homage to the eternal symbol of profound love, will be included. Also premiering will be a new work titled, Place by Charlotte Boye-Christensen, inspired by the complex issues of place identity.
