LAWRENCE F. GEE is a well known pianist and collaborator in the Salt Lake Community. He earned his degrees in piano accompanying and performance from Indiana University School of Music at Bloomington. He was an assistant conductor at New York City Opera under Beverly Sills and other professional opera companies. He has played on Temple Square as soloist with the Mormon Youth Symphony and on President Gordon B. Hinckley’s 90th birthday program in the Conference Center. In 2000 Mr. Gee performed in Israel with Jerusalem Symphony for the premiere performance and filming of Lex De Azevedo’s Hosanna and in 2002 he performed for President Tarja Halonen of Finland at a special meeting of the Finnish Olympic Team. He has been an official accompanist for many competitions, recitals and other musical events, including the 2008 conference of the International Double Reed Society in Provo, Utah and the Stradivarius International Violin Competition in Salt Lake City. Most recently during the summer of 2012 he was a coach and accompanist for the Institute for Young Dramatic Voices under renowned mezzo soprano Dolora Zajick and for the Utah Vocal Arts Academy Summer Workshop.
