Aerial Arts of Utah will make their main stage debut performance, Flight of Fancy. This whimsical journey through the air will feature high-flying acts of grace and strength on the aerial fabrics, trapeze and more. Formed in 2010, Aerial Arts of Utah is both a school and a performance company. After two years of performing at many public and private events, notably Utah Arts Fest, The Leonardo Museum, and Park Silly Sunday Market, Aerial Arts of Utah is ready to take their work to a bigger venue. Artistic Director, Elizabeth Stich, says she picked the Leona Wagner Black Box Theater because she wanted to have a full compliment of theatrical lights and a formal proscenium to show off the company's stellar choreography. When Aerial Arts says whimsy, they mean taking 'lighter than air' to a whole new level. Not only will the company span the vertical space with their choreography, they will make the air itself sing and sparkle. Nearly anything that hangs from the ceiling is fair game for Aerial Arts to dance on, so Flight of Fancy finds the company branching out beyond their traditional aerial fabric, trapeze, lyra and AcroYoga to new apparatuses, with more than a few surprises in store. Flight of Fancy will delight audiences and transport them to a world that defies gravity and inspires the imagination
