In response to a steady increase in demand, the GOAL Foundation (www.getoutandlive.org) will implement a lottery system for the 2013 Half and Full Zions Bank Ogden Marathon slated for May 18. Lottery registration opened October 1, 2012 and closes October 21, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Participants may register once as a group or individually. Groups ensure loved ones can race together and are limited up to ten people. If one entrant from the group is selected the entire group will receive an entry. If no entrant from a group is selected the entire group is omitted from the lottery. Duplicate names in the group and individual categories will be completely withdrawn from the lottery. A $5 non-refundable administration fee is required to enter. Winners will be selected electronically.
Selected and rejected entrants will be notified November 1, 2012 by 5 p.m. MST. At this time selected participants will be invited to register. They will have until Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 5 p.m. MST to complete their race registration. VIP registration opened October 1, 2012 and is not be included in the lottery. The VIP program enables runners to make an up-front contribution to ensure their spot. VIP registrations are limited. Guaranteed entries will also be provided to individuals who donate to the official charity partners of GOAL Foundation’s “Get Out and Give!” program. The “Get out and Give” program will open November 15, 2012 at 9 a.m. MST.
Loyal runners that have completed eight or more Zions Bank Ogden Full Marathon (26.2 distance) races will be eligible for a guaranteed entry. They must register September 17 to 28 prior to the general public lottery. Runners entering the 10-year club in 2013 and returning club members must register during this registration window as well to be eligible for guaranteed entry.
