We went to Goblin Valley about 2 years ago. We didn't want to stop climbing so we hiked towards the back of the valley and we found a cave that was a relief from the hot sun. most fun we've had in a while. Must see! ;D...
our young daughters (3.5 yrs and 1.5 yrs) loved the climbing, hiking, and sightseeing of this unique valley. we were glad to be there during off-season, as we had the place mostly to ourselves. fun place to see. we'll be back....
My father in his autobiography states that in approximately 1915 his father Burdel Mecham returned home to Hanksville UT after having searched for stray cattle on the San Rafael Desert exclaiming "I just saw the damndest thing you could ever imagine ---hundreds of redrock toadstools not much bigger than a man". He was as far as we can tell the first white man to ever...
San raphael is a great place to go with family and explore. However as an atv-er who pays to ride all the trails. Those idiots who park and camp in the wash and or trails and try to block the trails from us who pay for OHV permits should understand that if they dont want to hear or taste the dust that flys when we...
Amazing spot, however, you may want to go with day use only if you're a fan of listening to your campfire crackle!

I arrived in the evening to sweeping views of the desert at sunset. The campground was quite full for a weeknight and was a mix of tents and RVs. It was extremely noisy and echoed off the "campground goblins." A seperate...
The park was very interesting. We were in the Valley of Goblins when nobody was there. You can stand at several points there and yell or whistle and hear 3 distinct echoes. I was disappointed that a ranger wasn't present yet I understand in a small park that can't always be. We had access to prepay envelopes to gain entrance in the park but if...
In April of 2008 my family and I traveled 3 and a half hours to Goblin Valley. The drive was not very entertaining and there isn't much to see. My wife and I were beginning to worry that the long drive was not going to be worth it. However once we got close enough to actually see the rock formations (within 1 mile from the...
This summer we went to Goblin State Park as a side trip for the first time. This was one of the biggest highlights of our trip - this park is fantastic. We have two teenage boys and they never stopped climbing - we would definitely recommend this park to anyone....
Truly amazing area
This was the most amazing spot I've ever visited. I felt like Alice in Wonderland. I can't wait to go back as do some hiking among the goblins....

Indians...then cowboys!
Beautiful and unique, but cowboys didn't discover the area, the Native Americans did, hence the rock art. :)...
