Best Western Thunderbird Resort

Located between Zion, Bryce, and the Grand Canyon National Parks, the Thunderbird Resort provides comfortable accommodations and old-fashioned hospitality.
The idea to create the Best Western Thunderbird Resort in Mt. Carmel may have first originated in 1931. Fern and Jack Morrison and their children moved to the area and established a homestead. Though the area was mostly just sagebrush, they envisioned a prosperous future and bustling town.
Upon completing their home, Jack built a service station. Fern began baking pie. They established a restaurant, and eventually built hotel rooms and a golf course. Today the resort stands as a monument to the courage and dedication of those who originally braved the southern Utah wilderness.
Descendants of the Morrison family still operate the business, maintaining a down-home, yet service-oriented feel.
Resort amenities include a beautiful 9-hole golf course, pro shop, pool and hot tub, 61 luxurious rooms, restaurant, and gift shop. For those desiring to venture further out and explore the region, the Thunderbird Resort is located close to many attractions aside from the nearby national parks, including the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, The Grand Staircase National Monument, Little Hollywood, and more.
Whether guests seek relaxation on a scenic golf course, adventure in any of several national parks, or just a quiet room in a historical setting, the Best Western Thunderbird Resort rises to the challenge.
