Boulder Mountain Lodge

Boulder Mountain LodgeBoulder Mountain Lodge "I'd rather wake up in the middle of nowhere than in any city on earth". -Steve McQueen.

Steve McQueen would have loved Boulder, Utah! Even today, the area is remote and relatively unexplored. When visiting the area, a stop at Boulder Mountain Lodge is a must. Guests who chose to spend a night or more at the lodge will be pleased to sleep with the luxury of down duvees on the edge of a 13 acre pond - Boulder Mountain Lodge's own waterfowl sanctuary. Wake up to Canadian Geese, yellow & red headed blackbirds, coots and hundreds of hummingbirds. Gaze across green pastures and painted horses tucked between white sandstone buttes, deep redrock canyons and beyond to the Aquarius Plateau.

Boulder Mountain Lodge is an oasis of calm, comfort and discreet luxury in the middle of Utah's wildest, most remote sandstone canyon country. Boulder has never been easy to get to. It was the last town in America to receive regular mail service. Of the three roads into Boulder, only one was paved until 1986 when the dirt track over Boulder Mountain was completed.

Boulder Mountain Lodge In June 2002, Scenic Byway 12 was designated an All American Road. It is Utah's only All American Road, one of just 20 in the United States. This highway has been judged to possess multiple intrinsic qualities that are nationally significant with one of a kind features that do not exist elsewhere.. Boulder Mountain Lodge occupies the strategic crossroad of this All American Road. Located at the junction of the Burr Trail and Utah Highway 12, the Lodge is in the ideal location for exploring the upper end of the Grand Staircase Escalante, the Burr Trail, Aquarius Plateau, Boulder Mountain and lower Capitol Reef National Park.

Boulder Mountain Lodge High hospitality dropped in the center of America's most inhospitable, untouched landscape, makes Boulder Mountain Lodge a welcome base for exploring the region. The restaurant, "Hell's Backbone Grill", serves regionally based cuisine: a blend of Western Range, Pueblo Indian and Southwestern flavors. The menu changes weekly to reflect seasonal availability. They grow many of their own vegetables and herbs, and feature locally raised and natural meats.

Located on the threshold of unforgettable natural beauty, the best outdoor recreation the West has to offer, and at the heart of Utah's slickrock wilderness, the Boulder Mountain Lodge may be the best place to discover what's really important.
